Whistle Register
I’ve finally been able to pick my guitar back up and I’ve been playing some rock n’ roll for my 9 week old son, Harrison. Right off the bat I knew that I was rusty. I couldn’t remember easy songs that I used to play, so at first I just played the blues. I was trying to remember some songs that I knew I knew from Exile on Main St. So I looked up Exile on Wiki. Also listed were the musicians on Exile. I know there’s a whole back story to the Stones living in France having all sorts of people coming and going…I’m won’t get into that right now.
Lisa Fischer’s name was on there and she was listed as a singer on the new material that was recently released. So I clicked on Lisa to see what she’s been up to lately and Wiki says that her voice can hit the whistle register. WTF is the Whistle Register? I’m glad you asked.

The whistle register is the highest register of the human voice, lying above the modal register and falsetto register.

My wife and I have been watching a lot of Jeopardy! lately. “What is the whistle register?” sounds like a Jeopardy! answer, fer sure.
